Happy New Year Everyone!

We just completed a fabuolous year in the music business. We've kept busy the whole year long and are anxiously awaiting what 2012 has in store for us. A couple of big announcements to tell you about the Devils Elbow family. Our drummer Matthew Boutilier and his wife Nicole are the proud parents of a new baby girl! Also, on New Years Eve, Scott MacKinnon and his girlfriend Candace Purcell are now newly engaged. Congratulations you two!

A big THANK YOU to Rick Ruth of 7 MiLE STARE for filling in for our drummer and proud father, Matthew this New Years Eve. Rick helped us out when we were in need and we were so happy to get him. We played a show in Liscombe to a packed house and with a mere 4 practices Rick managed to pull off all of our tunes in time for New Years and exceeded our expectations. We should have known how great of a fill-in he would be. Thanks Rick!

As of right now, Devils Elbow has no shows booked for the new year, so if you'd like to book Devils Elbow for your next party or for a show anytime, please visit our Contact page for more details.

Welcome back to us! It's been a busy few months and haven't had a chance to update this lately but finally have found some free time! Hope everyone had a kickass summer. We were extremely busy working on our first full lengthed album. We had a few shows thrown in there.

Last week we were in the boomin' metropolis of Liscombe, Nova Scotia. One of our members weren't able to make the show but our good friend Chris Burrows stepped up to fill his shoes. Chris has made the Top 10 in the FX101.9 Country Superstar Contest. Please help our dear friend take the grand prize by clicking HERE. The song is called "Back Home" and we had the opportunity to play it live last weekend with a full band but once you check out the video you'll know that he didn't need us to make the song sound full. Please vote as many times as you can as this would be a great opportunity for him.

In other news, we have some upcoming shows that I'm hoping we'll see you at. Click the SHOWS button on the top scroll bar to learn where you can catch the Elbow Fever soon!

Until next time,

Wow, what a hell of a night that was. Dennis Field deserves a huge round of applause for putting together one of the most talented compilation CD's to come out of Denmark Productions. And did the bands ever put on a show to remember. Things went so smoothly and everyone was so professional when hitting the stage. Devils Elbow was on around 9:30ish and debuted two new songs never heard by anyone other than us. "Redline" & "Sea of Eternity" were instant hits with the crowd. To check out a sample of "Sea of Eternity" click on the video below:

A big shout out to the full Halifax Plugged-In 10 artists for putting on a scrumtrillescent show! You all rock! Support local, indie music!!

One of the most exciting shows to take into account is the Halifax Plugged-In 10 CD Release Party. Show support for local talent. There's going to be a great lineup. The show is June 18th @ Monte's Showbar in Dartmouth. Don't Miss it.

Make sure to check out our Shows page for more information on our upcoming shows.

It's been a while everyone. We apologize for the lack of updates but our design center to update the website was down for awhile. We've got lots of news to talk about it!! First of all we have our time slot for the ECMA Discovery Stage in Charlottetown. It's a late show but this is the time of day that people will be ready to rock out with us!

Murphy's Community Center in Charlottetown on April 13th @ 1:00am-1:20am.

In the upcoming weeks, we're going to need your help! Since this trip is going to cost us a fair bit of money we are holding a few fundraising shows. We need as many people to show up as possible as this will help us on our journey to become a reputable band within the East Coast music scene. Visit our Shows page for more details on when Devils Elbow will be in your area. Come show your support for us.

We've been in and out of Denmark Productions (our recording studio) in the past few weeks finishing up some songs which will be herad on Halifax Plugged-In 10 as well as on our demo CD that we are trying to complete before the ECMA show. We are working hard to give you a taste of what our full length album will sound like. Also, a big congrats to the Regal Beagle Band for joining us on Halifax Plugged-In 10. Can't wait to rock out with these guys as they are an up and coming bad with an infinite amount of potential.

We hope that you'll stick with us and come and show your support. If you are on the island during ECMA week, make sure you check out our set on the Discovery Stage. And also stay tuned to our BLOG on Youtube for updates along the way as we proceed toward the East Coast Music Awards!

ECMA 2011 in Charlottetown.... here we come.

Devils elbow (along with our friends from 7 Mile Stare.... congrats boys!) have been selected to play the Discovery Stage at the upcoming ECMA's in Charlottetown going on between April 13-17th. This is very exciting news for us as we will begin to showcase our original content. We have been working hard the past few months trying to perfect not only our cover tunes but also our original material. We are hoping to be chosen by FACTOR for a grant to go towards recording our album. We've got a lot of work to do in the coming months but we are determined and ready for the opportunity!

Our next show is going to be our New Years Eve show in Liscombe. I've heard a rumour going around that this show may be sold out. I'm unsure if this is true or not but if not you should get your tickets ASAP. Tickets can be bought by calling Deb Lutes @ 902-779-2231. Get them now before it is too late!

Last note, we'd like to spread our fanbase so we're asking for your help. Please invite all of your friends to join our Facebook group so that they can also be in the loop for everything that is, Devils Elbow! We thank you so much for all the great support and we really hope to see you at an upcoming show. We guarantee you'll enjoy yourself!

Until next time,
